The first quarter of each year marks a time of assessment for our team. While we constantly strive to further improve how we operate throughout the year, we specifically set aside time at the beginning of each year to step away from the Gerber space, and into a secluded arena, for a chance to dive into everything ‘Gerber’ with an annual company retreat.

As we return from this year’s retreat and step back into our normal workflow we’ve come to realize, we made some big moves in 2016! Check out what made our year, below.

ANNUAL ENTREPRENEUR FORUM | Gerber and guests set out for our annual entrepreneur’s forum in early 2016 to the beautiful Telluride, CO. Our group of business owners spent four days and three nights in a secluded arena, allowing the group to share insights and experiences with fellow entrepreneurs. – With the added bonus of hitting the slopes. NEW SERVICES FROM GERBER, LLC | In 2016 our team expanded our entrepreneurial services to fully service the lifecycle of the entrepreneur. Columbus is at the epicenter of aspiring entrepreneurs, but aside from startup business support, entrepreneurs have limited resources to turn to for support through their life-long journey. That’s where the Emerging Entrepreneur Experience comes in. Join our entrepreneurial movement today.

DISCOVERY | 2016 was chalk-full of action-packed Discovery events, continuing to provide the very best in content and information to our entrepreneur clients and partners. In 2016 Discovery united content experts and entrepreneurs to discuss topics ranging from ‘Communication Protocols for Entrepreneurial Couples’ to ‘Motivating the High Performers in Your Business,’ and everything in between. MEET THE TEAM VIDEO SERIES | We have built the Gerber process around our team. As such, our clients have built relationships with not one, but all members of our team from day one. But, we want our clients to know more than the names and faces of our team members –so the “Meet the Team” video series was born! The video series captures the in’s and out’s of each team member’s role in our office, and showcases each personality through “fun facts” for each person. OUR TEAM is growing! In 2016 we brought on new team members, making Gerber a team of 13. The addition of these new team members has brought new processes to Gerber, both in how we engage with and better serve our clients. THE FOUNDER’S JOURNEY | Running a business is a tough gig. Endless questions swarm the mind of a business owner on a daily basis, but the “right” answers aren’t always easy to come by. Which is why our team has transferred years of experience working directly with entrepreneurs into an all-inclusive guidebook to help provide entrepreneurs with the questions they should be asking – but likely aren’t! GERBER IN THE NEWS | We have worked hard to get the word out about our innovative efforts, and in 2016 that meant getting our team to speak in front of new audiences! We spent time with Innovate New Albany, Vistage, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, and the Franklinton Board of Trade talking everything from “The Importance of Partnerships as an Entrepreneur” to “The Other Side of Business Valuations.”

MEET & MINGLE | Our team hosted our first ever National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Meet & Mingle in 2016! As corporate sponsors to the local NAWBO chapter, our team was thrilled to host NAWBO members in our space and get to know the ladies better. NAWBO Columbus members channeled their inner fashionista as we transformed the Gerber office space to feature a Thread pop-up shop and Planthropy giveaway. Photos here.

WE CELEBRATED 25 YEARS! 2016 marks Gerber’s 25th year in business, and we couldn’t be more excited about the strides we have taken to get here. From a small, suit and tie financial firm to a professional service firm exclusively serving first generation entrepreneurs named a ‘Best Place to Work’, our team can’t believe how fast 25 years has come. And that includes our founder, who says celebrating year 25 seems “totally impossible.”
