ONCE YOU'VE CROSSED THE FINISH LINE... HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR NEXT ENTREPRENEURIAL INSPIRATION?
October 26, 2017
Congrats! You’re at a point in your business where you feel like you’ve crossed the finish line- closed a major client, expanded to that third location, or whatever it may be. Once you’ve achieved that goal and celebrated the victory you begin to think, what’s next? But as an entrepreneur you already know that’s a trick question. The dust never really settles.
The real question that established entrepreneur’s more commonly face is: How can I continue to find business inspiration throughout my growth journey?
Even after you close that big deal, new business ideas continue to generate and new plans unfold naturally steering you down a different path than originally intended. Feeling comfortable about the state of the business is a rare sensation. As you move up the ladder and accomplish more and more of your anticipated benchmarks and objectives, your relationship with the business changes.

Disclaimer: Goal setting is not a linear process! Your business goals are constantly evolving, forcing you to continually set goals for what comes next. This continuous evolution is partly metrics driven: revenue, profitability head count, number of markets served, etc. The more you accomplish, the more you crave growth.
So how do you do it?
The answer to this question is far more complex and can only truly be determined by you, as it is a routine reflection of what you, as the entrepreneur, want your relationship to be with the business and how it aligns with your life goals and visions.
The key is being aware of your current relationship status with the business, and how you want to evolve in the context of business growth. Keeping that trajectory moving in the right direction amid all the curves, bumps and plot twists along your journey is the tricky part.
Inspiration is the product of routine reflection of what you, as the entrepreneur, want your relationship to be with the business. It is limitless and can be found throughout any stage in the entrepreneurial journey.
